Summit Alumni Giving Back: Announcing the Live Your Dreams Scholarship

The Summit Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Live Your Dreams Scholarship. A grassroots effort started and funded by Summit High School Alumni, this award aims to make a difference for a local student in need.

2008 Summit High School graduate and Live Your Dreams Scholarship partner Dan Marion explains, “As adults who may have already attended colleges, universities, or training programs, have careers and experienced traveling, we can help others have the opportunities that we had and ensure that not just our own kids—but all kids—can live their dreams.”

Taryn Power, 2003 Summit Graduate and Director of Development at The Summit Foundation adds, “Many of my classmates were fortunate to be recipients of Summit Foundation scholarships. We’re so excited that alumni will have a way to return the favor for a new graduate.”

Alumni can become involved by making monthly donations or a one-time contribution. Donors can also choose to join a network of alumni connecting as a social and professional resource for each other.

To help alumni double their impact, community members Mike and Jenny Lundin have generously offered to match the first $2,500 raised for this award. Our generous community partner FirstBank has also offered to match $5,000 raised to support this initiative, bringing the total match to $7,500.

The Summit Foundation plans to award the first Live Your Dreams 4-year scholarship to a graduating senior in 2022. For more information on how you can support this scholarship, email tara@summitfoundation.org or visit the Alumni Scholarship page
