With the growing needs of our community during the pandemic, The Summit Foundation recently donated an additional $667,000 in COVID community support grants to local nonprofits. These COVID community support grants are special grants above and beyond The Summit Foundation’s annual nonprofit support, which typically provides over $1.2 million to local organizations. This special round of grants was focused on workforce assistance, stabilization support for youth and families, and nonprofit organizational support.
“As our community continues to struggle during the pandemic, we recognize the importance of continuing to provide assistance to our nonprofits who are the backbones of services in our community,” said Jeanne Bistranin, Executive Director of The Summit Foundation, “These additional grants were made possible through the generosity of our donors and the Katz Amsterdam Foundation. We know the pandemic has had a tremendous impact on our workforce, families and local community partners, and we are committed to addressing these critical needs to help all of us get through this.”
“We are so grateful for this additional support,” said Ellen Reid of Keystone Science School. “The Summit Foundation’s firm belief and investment in our work is truly appreciated.”
The Foundation was able to fully fund nearly every grant request from the local nonprofits. Recipients of the COVID community support grants:
