Retired Attorney, Board of Trustees
Don is one of the community’s strongest leaders since coming to Summit County permanently over twelve years ago, after retiring as a lawyer in Washington D.C. He and his wife Susan Propper started the Mountain Scholars program at Colorado Mountain College that provides academic support and mentoring to first generation college students, and he has personally mentored many students. In addition, Don was on the Board of Directors of the Family Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) and served as President of the Board for five years. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Peak Health Alliance, the initiative started by the Summit Foundation to provide affordable health care. Don is a prolific fundraiser and has a knack for getting people involved in the community. He and his wife Susan (a former trustee of the Summit Foundation) live in Breckenridge and enjoy hiking and traveling.
