Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic vision and operations of the Foundation to support the community, encourage philanthropy, and engage donors. Working in collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff, the Executive Director provides strong leadership and clear direction to execute the strategic plan and make an impact in the community. The position also builds and maintains excellent internal and external relationships, managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations. The Executive Director is a strong community leader with vast knowledge of the community, striving for inclusiveness and collaborative efforts to meet larger and ever-changing community needs.

Leadership

Communication and Community Engagement
- Communicate succinctly and transparently utilizing active listening
- Build strong relationships and effective communication channels between staff, board and community using diplomacy and tact to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
Fundraising and Donor Relations
- Embody the Foundation’s culture imparting passion about the vision and mission for the organization and our community.
- Cultivate Major Gifts with ability to identify, engage and steward corporate sponsors and high-net-worth individuals.
Qualifications
- Previous Nonprofit Leadership Experience – 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a non-profit organization/ philanthropic institution. This includes overseeing staff, managing teams and working with a board of directors.
- Previous Fundraising Experience - proven track record of securing at least $1 million annually through diverse funding sources (grants, individual donations, corporate sponsorships) with a demonstrated ability to lead successful fundraising campaigns.
- Program Management: Experience developing and overseeing community-focused programs or philanthropic initiatives. This includes designing new programs that align with the foundation’s mission and goals, as well as evaluating their impact.
- Budget Management: Experience managing a foundation’s finances, including multi-million-dollar budgets. This includes budgeting, financial planning, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Board Relations: Experience working directly with a Board of Directors, including preparing reports, facilitating board meetings, and aligning board goals with operational priorities.
- Governance and Compliance: Familiarity with nonprofit governance standards and legal requirements, including IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.
- Public Relations and Advocacy: Experience of 2-3 years serving as a public face for an organization, including speaking at events, media engagement, and advocacy on behalf of the organization’s mission and causes. This includes experience public speaking.
- Knowledge and passion for the Summit County community is strongly preferred
- Must commit to living within Summit County, Colorado full-time
Salary: Salary Range begins at $175,000 with consideration given commensurate with experience and qualifications.
