Higher education opportunities continue to expand for Summit County students, thanks to the efforts of the Summit Foundation. Beginning December 1, 2024, the Foundation’s online scholarship platform will be open for all local high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education, whether through traditional academic paths or vocational training.

As the largest scholarship provider in the region, the Summit Foundation relies on a network of donor-advised funds, individual contributions, and strong partnerships with local ski areas to offer invaluable support. Local businesses also play a vital role, showing their commitment to helping students achieve educational goals through additional scholarships.

To streamline the scholarship process, the Foundation offers a common application platform that allows students to apply for multiple scholarships with a single, unified form. “This platform simplifies the journey for students, allowing them to connect with a wide range of scholarship opportunities tailored to their unique strengths, interests, and future aspirations,” said Fran Blumenfeld, Scholarship Program Manager.

“Community support is a powerful statement of the belief in the potential of Summit County's youth,” added Jeanne Bistranin, Executive Director of the Summit Foundation. “These scholarships empower students to become the next generation of leaders, innovators, and community builders.”

The financial assistance provided by these awards helps minimize barriers, giving young scholars the freedom to pursue their academic and career ambitions.
