Since 1987, The Summit Foundation’s Great Rubber Duck Race has turned the Blue River into a sea of yellow for a cause that matters.

This year’s races will return Saturday, Aug. 30, with a full day of fun, prizes and philanthropy in Breckenridge. Duck adoptions are open now at SummitDuckRace.org and in-person at FirstBank, iFurnish, Outer Range Brewing Co., and at local farmers markets, and various pop-up events throughout the county.

For just $10, participants can purchase a rubber duck that gives individuals the chance to win prizes. This year’s prizes include ski passes, Via Ferrata adventures and restaurant gift certificates. Beyond trying to win fun prizes, every duck purchased supports Summit County youth, families, nonprofits and essential services.

The 38th annual duck race is set to begin at 11 a.m. and includes the kids duck dash, the business battle duck race and the great rubber duck race. After the completion of the duck races, spectators and participants can enjoy free family-friendly activities all day long including bounce houses, face painting, the Xcel wading pool, mountain safe backyard games and more.
