Have you ever said, “I wish there was one place to find out how I can give back to the community that has given so much to me”? Now there is.
Just in time for Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 24, The Summit Foundation has added volunteer opportunities to SummitCentral.org. The free resource directory for Summit County already connects people with food, healthcare, child care and housing resources. Now it also helps them share one of the most valuable gifts they have: their time.
Whether you have an hour, a weekend or a standing spot on your calendar, you can browse opportunities from local nonprofits, find a cause that fits your interests and connect directly with the organizations doing the work.
“SummitCentral.org gives our community one place to find the resources and services they need,” said Paul Finkel, a longtime advocate and funder of SummitCentral.org. “Now it’s also one place to give back. Your time is a gift, and our local nonprofits need it.”
At the Summit Foundation, we believe everyone can be a philanthropist. Giving doesn’t always come with cash. When you stock a pantry shelf, mentor a student or lend a hand at a community event, you are a philanthropist too.
Local nonprofits: List your volunteer opportunities and services free of charge at SummitCentral.org so community members can find you.
Visit SummitCentral.org to find your way to make a difference this Saturday and all year long.
