There’s something magical about Summit County at sunrise. On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Breckenridge Ski Resort provided the perfect setting for Summit Foundation First Tracks, an exclusive early-morning ski experience that highlights the power of community partnerships and celebrates the generosity of our medallion holders.
Attendees had the opportunity to carve turns on pristine, untouched slopes before the lifts opened to the public. The morning wrapped up with a delicious breakfast at Pioneer Crossing, where participants enjoyed huevos rancheros and sweeping panoramic views from the Ten Mile Range.
This event was made possible through our ongoing partnership with Breckenridge Ski Resort, whose support extends beyond the slopes. Their commitment to local nonprofits like the Summit Foundation helps ensure that grants, scholarships, and community initiatives continue to uplift the people of Summit County. Events like First Tracks showcase how local businesses contribute to the well-being of the community—not just by providing world-class recreation, but by investing in the people who live and work here.
First Tracks was also an opportunity to introduce our new Executive Director, Ellen Reid, to the Summit Foundation community. As she steps into this leadership role, she is eager to engage with the individuals, businesses, and organizations that make Summit County thrive.
We’re grateful to all our local Ski Area partners including: Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge Ski Resort, Copper Mountain, Keystone Resort and the Vail Resorts Epic Promise and all who support the Summit Foundation—whether through events like First Tracks, grants, or direct contributions. These collaborations make a lasting impact, ensuring that Summit County remains not only a beautiful place to visit but a strong and vibrant place to live.
Together, we are making Summit County a place where everyone can thrive.
